Boeing 737 MAX Grounding
Following the tragic loss of two brand-new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft in Indonesia (PK-LQP 29 October 2018) and Ethiopia (ET-AVJ 10 March 2019), the entire fleet of Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 9 aircraft has been grounded across the world. Boeing continues to build and test fly brand new MAX aircraft of all variants despite being unable to deliver the jets. Although an announced 20% reduction in production will reduce the number of undelivered aircraft slightly, some 40 aircraft will continue to be built each month.
The aircraft rolling off the production line are performing the standard test flights, painting and interior fittings before entering temporary storage at various Boeing airfields.
We have compiled an overview of all current and future MAX operators and a list tracking brand new MAX aircraft currently awaiting delivery sorted by their first flight dates.
