To be an airline pilot you need a Commercial Pilot Licence, Instrument Rating and ATPL theory.
Australian Wings Academy offers a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL); multi engine training, a multi engine Instrument Rating (MECIR); and ATPL theory. The CPL + MECIR course duration is 12 months full time. The ATPL theory course is an additional 3 months.

The CPL + MECIR course includes PPL, CPL, Multi engine and Instrument segments. The base course includes 207 hours of flight training and all the ground school theory, books, maps, charts, uniform, headset are included in the fee. Additional hours are available for students from countries where this is required.

The pre requisites to join the CPL+MECIR course are:
1) A CASA (Australian) Class 1 medical
2) A student visa
3) English (IELTS 6 or equivalent)

Courses start every 2 months with the courses for 2009 starting from 23 March 2009.

To apply for the course simply log on to our web site and go to the Enroll Now tab. We will then issue an Offer Letter. You pay a small holding deposit and we can then issue the COE which you need for your visa application. The visa process should take 4 to 6 weeks.

The course fees are as follows:

CPL A$60,000
CPL + MECIR (207 hours)A$81,481
ATPL FrozenA$3,900

The course fee includes absolutely everything you will need to complete the course – flights, briefings, full ground school for theory, books and maps and charts, headset, uniform, tests, theory exams, etc. The only additional fee arises if you need more hours to reach the standard to achieve the licence, and you just pay for the additional hours.

Course Fees are paid in 5 equal installments- one installment every 2 months throughout the course including one before you start the course.

AWA operates brand new aircraft with full glass (LCD screen) cockpits which makes the transition to jet flying very simple for students who intend to move on to airline jet flying

Accommodation is available from $95 per week twin share or $195 per week single bedroom. Each house has shared living, bathroom and kitchen facilities and are all fully furnished and equipped. The houses are in walking distance to the college. We are looking to offer a meals package during 2009.

Why choose Australian Wings Academy? AWA has the lowest student/instructor ratio of any flying school in Australia (which means you get personal service and get through your course quicker), the best facilities in Australia and the highest quality training. You will find cheaper schools but you will not find one with more personal service and higher standards.
