MAGNETIC COMPASS
 
What are the occasion magnetic compass shall be
calibrated and copmensated

ANSWER

At the time of installation

At periods as spacified by the manufacture

After the major repair of the aircraft or replacement of an engine mounted on forward fuslage

After installation of a new electrical system or major modification of the existing electric system in vicinity of compass

Afterinstallation of geophysical survey equipment or other equipments likely to have a strong external magnetic field

Whenever a direct reading or magnetic sensing element is changed

Whenever the correct functioning of a compass is in doubt or excessive deviation have been found in flight observation


After an aircraft has passed through an electrical storm

Whenever the physical damage,discolouration of fluid and bubbels of fluid is observed

After an aircrat is subjected to a Serve Shock as in the case of a heavy landing


I think it is going to help AVIONICS engineers or students
