Airbus A330neo is delayed

TAP, The launch company of the A330neo had already announced it. But so far, there had been no official confirmation from Airbus. Now the European aircraft builder has confirmed. The A330 Neo is late.
The first flight was already scheduled to take place at the end of the summer, but the first flight of A330neo is likely to take place in September and not in August.
President of Airbus Airbus Commercial Aircraft Fabrice Brégier said earlier this year that the first flight of the new version of the long-distance classmate would take place in the first half of the year and the plan was that the first delivery should take place in 2017. Now, this is to happen in spring 2018.
At the end of December, Fernando Pinto, head of the launch company TAP, had already announced that his airline would not receive the aircraft until March 2018.
Internal Airbus sources told Reuters that the reason for the delay was some minor problems with the Rolls-Royce engines. But the Trent 7000 engines from Rolls Royce have now successfully passed their tests, Airbus said.
The newly developed Trent 7000 engines are designed to power the more fuel-efficient version of Airbus' long-haul aircraft. In November 2016, there had already been a problem with other engines of the British manufacturer. Emirates President Tim Clark explained that the Trent 900 engines, which are expected to drive their Emirates' 52 Airbus A380, had technical problems.
