TAYLOR, Texas —
Two people were injured when the Piper Cherokee airplane there were in crashed and burned west of Taylor
A small plane crashed at about 9:30 a.m. this morning just west of Taylor, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety and Taylor police.
There were two people on board when the Piper Cherokee airplane hit the ground and caught fire.
The pilot suffered severe burns and the passenger was also injured, but apparently escaped injury from the flames, a DPS spokesperson said. It's not known at this time where they were transported for treatment.
The crash happened near the 620 block of County Road 403. The plane lifted off this morning from Corpus Christi on its way to Taylor, but crashed just before reaching its destination.
