Incident: Oman B738 near Muscat on Jun 17th 2013, cracked windshield

An Oman Air Boeing 737-800, registration OK-TVU performing flight WY-3905 from Muscat to Salalah (Oman) with 100 passengers and 6 crew, was climbing out of Muscat when the crew stopped the climb and decided to return to Muscat due to a cracked cockpit window. The aircraft returned to Muscat for a safe landing about 90 minutes after departure.

The airline reported that the passenger oxygen masks were released as a precaution but were not needed as there was no loss of cabin pressure. The cause of the windshield damage is being investigated. The passengers were rebooked onto later flights the day.
