A passenger plane crashed after it skidded off the runway while landing at El Waq Airport in Gedo Governorate, southwest Somalia.
A plane carrying more than 40 passengers crash-landed into a military base in Gedo region, southern Somalia, early Wednesday, local officials confirmed.

Officials said the passengers were evacuated safely after a Skyward flight from Nairobi crash-landed at Burahache military camp, Elwak, Gedo region in Somalia, which is about 15 kilometers from the Somalia-Kenya border.
Officials in the El Waq region administration said - according to the Somali National News Agency today - that the plane was coming from the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, with 45 people on board, as the passengers were evacuated and there were no injuries in the accident.
